If i get the hydro-pro should i get the one for up to 40 gallons even though it will be used in a 20 gallon tank?? I just figure the larger it is the better the cleaning power.

they are kind of bulky at that size and take up good space in a 20 gallon. either way you should still clean them often to avoid bad bacterial problems. I would go with a smaller one

    Jennie,

Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten

I received one from Dan from my shipment 3 months ago. Works good as advertised. I like how the internal design works, no need for airstone. However, it is a good a idea to take it apart once in a while to clean the internal parts.

Durability? I've only had it for 3 months and it is working really well. Time will tell.

Stackability might be an issue? Dan can answer this one.

Plus! The box is really fancy. I guess i'm a sucker for Wayne's Fish!

David's Foam filter looks similar to Dan's. However, I can't say much because i have not tried it yet!

HOwever, David sells an overhead Wet/Dry filter that works really well.

Marte, Yes these can be easily stacked and used in your tanks. Next order I will send you another one..

    Ray,

Although similar I believe they are superior to the Hydro Sponges. Here are the differences:

    • Internal fittings that have a rigid tube that pulls water from bottom of filter as compared to the Hydro that pulls from the top unless you use an air-stone
    • The plastic is softer so it will not crack like the Hydro Sponges
    • Snap design prevents the fittings from coming apart like the Hydro Sponges
    • Sponge is denser allowing for more nitrifying bacteria

Looks like the Wayne is the same as mine. Only with his name on them.
