So.....I have had my Heckel Cross without a mate for a long time. He is a HUGE bully and will beat the pi$$ out of every fish in every tank. I once tried to force pair him with my female Blue Scorpion but he beat her down bad. Anyways, its been several months and I figured what the hell, I'll try her again since the Heckel Cross has been in isolation for being a bully. Immediately they hit it off and she is fighting back. Now they are dancing and fanning so I'm pretty excited. She is bigger than him and can drop an army of eggs. Keeping my fingers crossed! Woo-hoo!!!!

Yeah we'll see once they spawn. I'm just happy they are going through the motions. I havent been able to pair the heckel cross with any females so this is definitely a step in a nice direction. If these 2 hit if off and carry fry, I'll be floored!

Hell yes! Its the same cross as my very first successful spawn. It was the heckel cross and a blue scorpion (sibling to this one). And I kick myself to this day because I didn't raise them the right way. Only a few turned out nice but now maybe I'll have my chance to redeem myself....to myself.
