I've got a couple I borrowed here and one is something I will buy and the other not so much. Do not bother with Penang Discus by shaifullah. Though it has SOME good reading allot of it you can learn right here on SD. The other is the trophy discus by dick au, and I like this one as it describes each strain in detail, how it was created and what you get when you cross it with or back to other strains. HTH

As I have a collection for myself I would like to get a couple for my local fish club. They have the Dick Au book already, they got it from him when he did a presentation here.

Thanks. I do have those books and often recommend them as reading for my fellow discus hobbyist in the area. I need to find some"used" prices on these reads....I'm on a soup budget as well, LOL

This is a nice book that gives some background to the discus industry in Singapore starting with the Gan family and then it highlights some of the current breeders in Singapore: See Cheow San, Lee Tong Juan, Chai Koon Seng, Simon Pak, Ivan Seah, and Chan Kok Eng. The rest of this book covers water, nutrition, breeding, brine shrimp, disease, acclimation, discus in competitions and the Singapore Discus Club.
