I hope that I have not mistaken Virgin Red X Wild Green= Rose Red(with bars) & others....after culling Rose Reds without bars are called San Merah.
Nice fish, some would classify it as a Rose Red or Red Cover, depends on the breeder.

I had several pairs of RR's from Jeffrey Yang, thru Mike Beals, and every pair/spawn had a percentage of bars, SnakeSkin and regular, and a high amount of bar-less. Tho I am sure I could have played the name game and sold as 3 different strains, I sold the all as RR's, what the parents were...Bill
Here is a photo of the pair being refered to as San Merah. Can anyone confirm if these are a true pair? Reason I question it is because from the images I have seen of San Merah, this pair looks much lighter in color.

If they are anything like the VR's, they darken quite a bit when they are spawning, I think alot of the "wow" pictures are taken at this time.
Those look like the real deal to me. If that's the pair being sold in Wisconsin, they came from a reputable source. As said, they usually darken once wrigglers/freeswimmers...Bill
Thanks Bill and everyone for your thoughts, comments and great information.
What a great website!!!!

I know this is an OLD thread, and probably dead...but after reading about the san merah's I was wondering how I would turn out with my mix. Yesterday I noticed wrigglers in my 90 gal community tank. the san merah is the male, the female is a blue diamond.
This is the address of a pic of them on a thread I started: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...ound-wrigglers!
