They are more than likely domestic. You don't see too many wild caught discus at that size.

I can't post any pistures because they are hidding all the time...
The only different i have seen is that in temp 30 C they where hiding in the woods and didn't eat anything....but in 27 C they where eating...
And the other think is that there fins are coloured and not just white

I see 5 cm wild discus being imported into United States now.
Been wondering if these are possibly farmed in South America again.
They appear too small and consistent in size than normal wild caught.

Our importers are at the mercy of the South American exporters. If our importers import fish as wild caught then that is how they have to sell them. If they are farm raised then it is probably through natural selection in ponds and theoretically they would still be wild discus. Are we very lucky....?....the small ones are much cheaper !
I see small wilds, 5 - 6.4 cm total length, selling for $25 US.

could be real stuff , sometimes u can spot a difference of the wild stock and F1's that wilds have a bit bent or non consistent hard and soft rays on their fins

Look like wild to me. Vera made good points to look for, also on wilds tail fin is rounded and tank raised f1's come more to a point at tips.
Good luck with these, they look nice.

One of our sponsors, snookn21, sometimes offers wild discus as small as 2-1/2", often blues and greens of 3-1/2". I'd think they were from early wet season spawns, partially grown by the dry collecting season.

If the pictured fish isn't wild, it's very close to it, indistinguishable from wild...

Should i raise the temp to 32 C ??? I read somewhere that the first week you have to raise mthe temp to 32C just to make them feel better in the aquarium....a montyh now they are hiding in the woods....only for food they come out....nothing else

The last group of 10 Heckels I bought over five years ago were the smallest sized Heckels I had ever seen. All 8 to 9 cm in diameter. I bought them in May which should have been at some point in the wet season but it was also a time when there was period of relative drought in Amazonia.

Pool raised wilds and tank raised F1 should be indistinguishable if the wild fish have been given a long enough acclimation period prior to shipping, imo.
