Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share a few pictures of my tank. It's my amazon community tank.
The full tank shot where the water is mid-level is because I was doing a water change.
Here's a short video..

That's a Geophagus Proximus. When I took that picture I had just removed the canopy to let some sunshine in my tank. At that moment the rays of the sun was spot on his dorsal, had to grab the camera quick because it was like a rainbow.
They are fine with the Discus and only chase each other around. Nothing to the extent of having to separate, just a bump & nudge here and there.
Nice I seen you posted this over on MF. Looks nice. Do you remember what grade of Silica sand that is? I have a 100lb bag but am worried I got to fine of grade. The other silica I bought is a larger grade but I wanted to try something different with another tank.

There is a place by my house called Arroyo Building Supply (www.arroyo-bldg-materials.com) where I had gotten 3m S Grade sand in the past. When I had set my tank, I went there to purchase some and was told they no longer carry the 3M brand however have something similar. Unfortunately I just went with it and didn't bother looking at the brand. You can go on the website and call them to ask. The color I chose is buff color and was told the grade was the same as the 3m S.
I get my silica at a building supply place as well. Yours looks like the new stuff I got. Is it pretty lofty? Does it settle slow or kinda slow? Lol! Do the fish kick it up very badly? I am adding Geo's to my display tank and I dont know if the larger grain I have in there is gonna cause them problems. I did a wave my hand over the sand in a container test and it settles rather slowly. Technical terms Can do fine of a grained sand cause problems to fish??

Your tanks looks great. You have some STUNNING discus in there. Love the angel and the geos.It looked like the goes were rounding up the discus in the corner?? Or were they just after a feed?
