    Hello Wannafish,

    ph: 6.4-6.6
    ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0

I use peat in my filter (sump & fluval canister). They mostly eat live bloodworm, freeze dry bw, frozen bw, tetra colorbits, and garlic discus pallets. I notice that they are very hardy compare to my domestic. But domestic eats everything that I throw into the tank.

    What size is your tank?
How many Heckels are in your group?

Just out of observation, the lighting is a bit much for them. You can see how they are huddled around the plant for cover. Might think of adding some top cover or wood for them to feel secure. Additionally, some peat or Indian Almond Leaves would reduce the lighting and the fish will really shine in the tinted water. A good substitute is Kent Blackwater Expert, which is the most concentrated additive that I've used, to tint the water. It only takes a small amount compared to other blackwater additives. Just a thought

    Hello Iralde,

David is a local hobbyist who had the heckels originally.

Not sure about that. I thought those were the Heckels that came from Hans last Spring.

    Van,

You are correct my mistake, I spoke to David about sources for heckels early last year before Hans started importing from Hudson and recommended John. But he did get these from Hans.

No problem. only reason I remember that is because I drove to Hans thinking about buying them but learned that they were all purchased by a SD member. I later found out it was David that purchased them all.
