Haha, that bowl idea is kinda funny. But the discus aren't old but they're to the point where they lay eggs every week.

I HAVE THIS PAIR AND THEY LAID 5 OR 6 TIMES IN THE COMM TANK AND KNOW IN THE ONE ON THERE OWN. THEY WILL WATCH THEM FALL OFF THE CONE AND THE MALE WILL EVEN TRY TO GET DOWN BY THEM LIKE THEY ARE GOING TO SPRING UP OWN THERE OWN AND ATTACH. IT TAKES THEM A LONG TIME TO GET THE PARENTING THING DOWN. IT IS PIA WAITING FOR THEM TO GET IT. LOVE THE BOWL WILL HAVE TO TRY THAT ONE.

Well it works for me with using a bowl to hold it down until I am ready to move it. She is doing very well with her wigglers. I removed the gutter guard 2 days ago because I didnt see that may wigglers on the cone any more. I thought she ate them but infact she was holding them in her mouth. When I seen her spitting them out on the cone I was in total shock. I never seen such a thing and she held them in her mouth for a really long time. I wasnt sure if she would care for them. Dad was the eater. So he was removed after spawing was done. Here are some pics of it.

Sorry for the bad pics. But you get the idea. You can see the hole batch in one big clump. It looks like most are missing but they are there.
    Enjoy
