thats brazillian pennyworth.
Gorgeous tank, beautiful fish. *sighs with envy*
Few questions for you. What do you do to your water (treatment/ferts). What kind of lights? Tank filtration?
thanks,
kirk
kirkp, wc's are from tap with just prime. I have a catalina light. I run the led's for 12 hours but they suck for the plants so I run 1 of the 2 54w t8's for 6 hours. what little algae there is my bn pleco cleans up. filtering is from a ehiem 2178 and a rena xp3. I only add 2 caps of flourish with every wc.
Gorgeous Greens !and lemons really complement them
Natalia
We're here for a good time...not a long time..
thanks vera. people don't realize how colorful lemons get. they are uaually pale in the lfs tanks.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.... if you have one or two to part with, please let me know.
Interesting. I run less light than that for less time, yet I have a thick mess of green algae on my floating [fake] plants. It makes me worried about killing the live stuff when I add it. I wouldn't think a BN would go up high like that either.
I could toss some of my cousin's army of Mollies in and surely it'd be gone in a day or two. They're central american, though, which would ruin everything. Plus I worry that they might get a bit nippy at the discus. Perhaps I can just put them in for 24 hour shifts and then toss them back in his tank downstairs...
hey Dave. my pleco does'nt go near the plants. he takes care of the wood. there are a few leaves with a little algae but nothing bad. I think plastic can be worse than live. real plants take up the nutrients that feed algae. with plastic the algae has all the nutrients it needs to flourish. an added bonus is that plants help keep nitrates down. I probably overfeed my fish a little, and my nitrates are never over 5ppm. I do a wc every 4 days and by day 4 I do have a bit of brown algae on the sand. mollies not an option for me. can't imagine trying to catch anything in the mess of wood I have lol.
Any updates? I just love your set up!

thanks lizziotti. no, it's pretty much the same. I think this is the longest I have had a tank without doing a major re-scape. I don't know how I would make it better. I would love to add some leaves to the bottom, but it would be a pain trying to vacuum. I have a hard enough time getting my hand thru all the wood as it is. been thinking of adding a few rams.
I think rams would look great in that tank. Do you still have the eartheaters? Do yhey help keep your sand clean?
