Happy New Year everyone! Although I am a Tiger (imagine that?) and had my year last year, I am ready for some peace, good will, and prosperousness. This will be a good one for us. I think I'll go make a stirfry.

Happy new year of the bunny rabbit to everyone!))))..and just so everyone know, the word for "fish" in Chinese mandarin sounds exactly, even in tone, to the noun for "excess". So keeping fish is consider to be extremely lucky, in the Chinese world view, because you will have more than you will ever need, and more, and more is always good. This is why so many Chinese people love keeping fish as pets, everything from discus, to goldfish/kois, bettas, flowerhorns and arowanas.

A whole steamed or fried fish, from head to tail, is also a must for any feast, be it New Year's eve or birthday because of the same idea that a "fish/excess" represents excessive wealth/luck/prosperity, excessive years in health and longevity etc mike
