Nice wilds and like the simplicity of the tank.
These were delivered to me on 2/15. I didn't measure them, but they are large. The nicest one (with the bars) is very large. His color and bars remind me of a tiger. He's easily the most gorgeous discus I've ever owned. I know they are browns, but I also see some slight red color developing on their upper body towards their head. That was a nice surprise. Their color gets better by the day. Thanks John!

Thanks for sharing, great fish, there is one in particular that is outstanding!
I also love the tank set-up, very clean, one suggestion if I may, place your heater on a horizontal plane, closer to the bottom so you have more clearence for water changes.

Thanks for comments. I do think the one with the bars is simply outstanding! He's easily the best looking discus I've ever seen in person.
I didn't like the look of the horizontal heater as it catches too much light and reflects badly. I don't change more than 35-40% of the water at one time. If they ever show signs of spawning, I will have to place the heater somewhere else.
I liked these browns in John's tank shots and John tried to talk me into them. You are lucky I passed (and I cry).

These wilds also like the taste of cardinal tetras. You'll see in the first photo the two cardinals. Those are the only two left!
Nice fish! Good luck with them. I will have to post a few pics of my fish. :-)

Nice looking group of browns. That a 80 gal tank? They fill it out about perfect. The anubis looks great, very nice and clean tank. Well done.
Thanks. It's 75G tank. I would like some more wilds, but I just don't think I have the proper amount of space for more. Four adult discus in a 75G feels right to me. I'm just glad they get along so far. It could change down the road if their any pairing up.
That's anubias hastifolia. I like it because it has longer stalks.
Very nice fish and I love the simplicity of the setup.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the update. These guys are looking great!
Thanks,
John
Beautiful! I was waiting to see pics of these guys
I am a big fan of "minimalist" aquascaping.
Your tanks rocks and your wilds are beautiful.
Nice work!
Thanks! Sometimes I think about adding vertical branches and floating plants, but then I go back to K.I.S.S. The pool filter sand is very easy to siphon in this tank and the fish seem to feel secure with what little decor I have in there. Adding more decor will make the fish look even more cramped. These adults make the tank feel small enough.
Man those guys looks good. i just ordered a few from snookn21, cant wait to get them in
