Very nice!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
here are some pictures of my 3 week old fry from my Red Turq x Spotted Leopard pair.
The tank looks a bit dirty, but some of the debris on the bottom is just massacred black worms lol. It was feeding time and they poo a lot when they eat.
Let me know what you guys think

thanks Wendy!!! I'm really proud of this group. For the most part they are all growing at the same pace and look great to me. They're big for their age compared to past spawns too... Just a great group! I finally got an official count, there's 58. I thought there were more but oh well! LOL

Melissa, too my uneducated eye they look alert and lively, Nice job you are doing. Funny how quickly they start to look like discus.

Thanks Pat! I know, right? They are so cute too! My little swarm of baby discus! I love it, LOL
Thanks
Hehe thanks Mark!!!
I actually culled one for the first time yesterday.... I've never had the heart to kill a fish before and I'm still kind of surprised at myself that I did it... But this one was deformed and quite small and I had noticed some flicking and rubbing in the group... Not a lot but enough to bug me. Sure enough, after culling the runty one I scoped it and found gill flukes, lots of them. So glad I found the nerve to cull one otherwise I wouldn't have known something serious was going on until it was too late! Even though I'm treating them with Meds, they're still hungry little piggies. It's just business as usual for them. Eat and poop and eat and poop.
I would whole heartily recommend anyone thinking about breeding should think about investing in a microscope having one probably saved this lovely group.

Aren't they cute! Makes me want a batch of my own now, but I think I have no pairs out of my 12, at least not yet. Good luck with these little ones, eat and poop, eat and poop, where have I heard of that before??

They look great. It is a milestone in discus-keeping to get fry to the stage you have them and have them be pretty healthy...and eating and looking good. I've kept discus numerous times and have not had a pair that has successfully raised fry to the stage yours are at, so I commend you. I have artificially raised a few and I am pretty good at growing out fry to adult stage, but success in breeding discus and having the pair raise the fry has avoided me thus far. I am determined to be successful this time. I am growing out 17 discus and hope to have a few pair off in couple of months. Then the fun will accelerate. Enjoy your fry. Are you going to be selling some and keeping a few?
Okay, for the great deal I gave you on the TDS meter you've got to give me the option to have first pick, or dang close. I might not actually be able to tack any, but I ought to have a shot.
Just looked at the Spotted Leopard on-line, didn't know what they looked like, oh that's a cool pairing.
HEY! MAYBE YOU OWE IT ALL TO ME!!! LOL

Hehehe thanks everyone!
Im not sure you want some of these guys Keith, im having fluke trouble with them and putting them through the ringer with meds and stuff. Theyre all a decent size for their age. They are 3 wks and a couple days old and are pushing 1" already... we'll see how they do and if i can get their health under control. They still eat like piggies and seem to be growing, i think they just had a growth spurt actually. Heres a few new pics. Can you tell im a proud mama! LOL
Although in the pics it appears there are a few different sizes, thats really just due to how close or far away from the camera they are. The whole group is pretty good and growing the same. Only a few stragglers.

Thanks for the sweet comments Dudley
I am going to move these guys into a 60 gallon in the next few days and i plan on growing them as big as i can... but ive never done it like this before. I do want to keep some, especially if any turn out to have nice patterns. Im not sure what ill get from this pair!
Anyone know how long i can keep 58 discus fry in a 60g?
