    Default Pool filter sand

I am looking to buy pool filter sand that is really coarse. I tried the local leslies pool supply store and the sand is fine and not coarse. I have seen people having really coarse sand. Any help?

Call the nearest sand and gravel company or quarry, as the retailers all use smaller than 20 mesh..larger mesh size is available thru most operators, but the 'filter folks' specify that smaller screen size..

Hi Prabhu, since we're in the same area, check pool/spa stores, Ferrari, McCarthy, Surfside etc. It's mostly 20 grit but each shipment can be different as far as color & texture. I've been tempted by Carib Sea "Peace River", more like small gravel than sand but a pretty color.
