How do you know it's female? I can see a bit of the ovipositor.
According to Andrew Soh females tend to have full body colour including the face. Males have the white face.

Hi Moon.....no expert thought as female tends to have full color in the body compare to the male.......full color to the face......? meaning a red face......have not seen a RGD (golden base)or Red Cover(golden base) ....with total red face................sure Andrew Soh mentioned it ?.....in his books?

Last month I purchased 2 super mandarin passsion from luck tropical.They are pigeon based only the tail is darker no pepper at all.I was only supposed to get 3 inch buggers I opend the box and one was 6 inch and the other is 5 inch they show pairing signs but no one showed up to the rodeo just yet. I still have them in quarantine. I am very happy with them!

Hope you're doing well my friend! I have 2 SMPs that look like this. Both females.
They are Pigeon Base.

Andrew talks about red discus in general not necessarily super mandarins. I have six reds all about 2 years old that I got from Dan (Elite Discus). No signs of pairing or spawning activity. I think they are all females.

Nice shape, good color, and pretty clean, very nice discus you have there.

I have had red females with and without color in the face so... not sure is that can be a gender sign.
