This is kind of a rant about the supposed 1 dollar per gal sale.
I picked up 10 of the 40 gallon breeders for an upcoming fishroom project .
The price on the tanks says 40 dollars after the petco savings.
They charge you the tax on the original price which is 109.00 so with tax it comes up to 48.00 and change.
There's not one calculation on my receipt that had 40.00 on it so how can they have it priced at 40.00?
If that tank was 40.00 as shown on the price tag my cost should have been 42.80 per tank.
I'm getting together an email to the company to express my dissatisfaction with their false advertisement on the so called one dollar per gallon sale.
I don't know what world all you people grew up in but to me a pricetag that says 40 bucks means 40 bucks and you pay the 7% tax on 40 bucks.
Am I right?

It has to do with how they ring it up, they charge you full price+ tax then discount it with your petco pals card. I'd really like to see proof that those taxes are actually going to the state and not there pockets.But seriously you bought 10! My wife just about moved me to the garage when I brought home 2! Kent

Yep that makes 13 and I'm getting another used one off craigslist this week
It's just the 40 dollar price is very deceiving, I'm gonna raise heck about it, I see a restraining order in my future.
