I have seen April Ross (SD sponsor here) using those sands for discus display tank in her shop.
I purchased 15 bags for my 75 g. Wondering if anyone had any issue using these.

You really don't want a deep sand bed just enough to cover the bottom so I'd get 30 pounds better to have a little more but you could use playsand and 50lbs is 3.49 where I'm at. Takes some time to clean but would be super cheap and if you suck some up vacuuming it would be cheap to replace.
I've only got about 1/2 inch at deepest area

I'd recomend about an inch It helps to create a not so flat look.
Sand is sand, as long as it's not aragonite. I'm way too cheap to spend $20 plus for a 20 lb. bag of sand. Sand sold for aquarium use is a rip off, plain and simple. I just use pool filter sand at eight bucks for 50 lbs. Costs more then play sand, but is also much cleaner.

From where i live, they only carry ivory color play sand. I have been using that sand on all of my other aquarium but wanted to make it special for my wild. That why i paid 1/lb.
