    Question Deworming Flake from AngelsPlus

    I have some deworming flake from angelsplus.com that I have had for a year I believe maybe a little longer and it had been in the fridge all this time was just wondering if you guys think the flakes are still good for deworming.....Thanks

    I suspect it is OK, but you may as well ask the guy who made it. Steve typically responds to e-mails several times each day.

    Yeah I did that 1st and this is what he said "Sorry, I'm unaware of any studies that show the effectiveness over time"

    I think you will be fine as long as the packaging is still air tight. The percentage of ineffectiveness should be very low. However, the freezer would be a better option than the refrigerator.

    1. but what will the age be by the time you do use it and are you willing to wait and see if it works.
    2. if it doesn't have an expiration, I would pitch it and use a product like Vermisol/Levamisole that does. (yes a little bias here given I sell Vermisol)
    3. generally speaking, flake food is fine if your fish are eating, but 1 & 2
    4. Vermisol is inexpensive and has a manufacturer's expiration date stamp that has a shelf life typically two years
    5. Vermisol treats the entire tank
