Silly question, but, how do you guys suspend manzanita so it looks like tree roots in a tank.
What do you use and what do you suspend it to.
I am new and I just received my branches, don't wanna risk any hurt fish...
Thanks!
Here is my thread and pics of what I did with mine. I drilled and tapped 10-24 screw hole in the top of my mazanita wood and ran a 4" long 10-24 stainless screw into it. http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...-my-120-Gallon
I just put in in upside down prop it against the top and slide the glass up to it or tie it to a filter tube. I make it so I can move it easy to clean the tank
Yeah, it's pretty easy. I just cut strips of oak to fit inside the braces, and attached with ordinary deck screws. Deck screws are coated to prevent rust, and cheap, which is a bonus. They are going to be buried in the wood anyway. You then just hang across the braces.
The way I do it is to figure out how I can best show the manzanita, and screw a stainless steel screw through a regular aquarium grade suction cup [with the cup pointing away from the wood]. I use 2-3 of them for a big piece--this way I can move them when I need to clean and they are suspended off the back of the tank as high or low in the tank as I want them. I have had large pieces suspended this way x a couple years now and it works great. If I want to change the angle, I suppose I can just unscrew the suction cups and plug them on sommewhere else.
Best regards
