Connecting barrels together

Can anyone explain to me how to connect two 55 gal drums together they are plastic I got a great deal on them been using one for 2 months now but I really need the other 2 I have also for mixing and aging water I have a float valve connected to the one from the Ro unit but I am needing more water now . Pictures would be great ! Thank you

Just buy two bulkeads that fit desired PVC pipe size along with correct hole saw bit and plumb them together, very simple to do. When ordering your bulkheads just ask what size fits your need.
It can also be done with regular PVC plumbing parts, don't know exact name of parts but they are threaded on one end and you glue the other. You need to make a rubber washer for the threaded end. If I'm at the hardware store this weekend I'll take pics of the parts for ya.
Make sure you connect close to the floor.

I have connected 3 barrels together with bulkheads. Easy. I'd call JEHMCO and tell them what you want to do, they'll send you just what you need. -Don

I think that's just how the picture is, the support beams bow less than 1/4" from empty to completely full.

Pretty sweet setup. How do you know when they are full, and how are you adding dechlorinator?

Thanks. One tank on the end is the kind of clear white color so I can see the level on that barrel, The overflow (top row of smaller pipe) is plumbed down to the sink so when I get lazy I can just wait till I see water in the sink and I know they are full. I dechlor [with Safe] as I refill tanks.

I like that idea a lot... you're using water pressure to bring the water in and you're letting gravity bring the water out. Nice!

Awesome design I wish I would have seen that before I already drilled holes for a heater and airstone . I'm with atitagain my wife thinks I go overboard with 3 barrels at the end of the hallway . She still doesn't understand why I change the water every day in some tanks and every other day on others .

In lieu of bulkhead fittings (yep, fittings, bulkheads are dividing walls), I've used regular pvc fittings and a bead of silicone on vertical barrels...Mostly, I've used their own inserts, like yim pictured..But like all things Discus, I'm phasing out my barrels in favor of multiple totes....(don't tell this to your wives, they'll sabotage your fish!)
