Pat what are those fry to look like when adults. They're the same cuipeua that Hudson has now?

Me too Zach, I will post every two weeks or so on their progress.

Awesome, hopefully snookn gets his new fish in soon so I can put something in my tank I feel left out haha, I have to fish and no pics to be able to take for the community to see.
Wait...aren't you getting some of Hudson fish?

nope
Pat, thanks for referring me to this thread. I don't know how I missed it. Those babies are already changing their colors and growing so fast. Do you think they are growing faster than the domestics? I am sure the live worms have a lot to do with it. It still makes me wonder how much is nature vs. nurture. The parents are absolutely gorgeous! You are going to have a tank full of beautiful fish very soon. I think this is a great excuse for another larger tank. As they say, "bigger is better".
Anik
Anik, I have no idea on the growth rate as these are my first batch of juvies. They have grown a full inch in five weeks I have had them and agree that live worms have a lot to do with the growth rate. I do withhold the worms when feeding other foods as I do not want them being black worm elitists.

The fish love the blackworms so much that it is easy for me to get addicted. I know there will be no leftovers and I just love watching the fish go nuts over them.
I love watching them hunt the worms. The tefe's blow the sand looking for worms. Anik, make sure to feed other foods...ok

Yep. They eat better than I do. In addition to the blackworms, they get tetra color bits, sera discus, NLS, BH flakes, frozen daphnia, plankton, bloodworms, ON flakes.
You are right. It is easy to get stuck on the blackworms. It has to be great watching them search the sand. Some of mine do that also, but not to the extent that I am sure the wilds do. Mine will get lazy and position themselves in front of the spray bar and let the food come to them. Smart little buggers.
