prazi pro and metro together?

I heard from a friend of mine who has been keeping discus for years (along with myself also) that you are not supposed to treat prazi pro and metro at the same time. Is this true?

Please forgive me if its in the forum, I have not had enough time to read the several hundred pages of posts.

there a few manufacturers combine these meds together.....no problems using them together.

Hi evryone I know this is an old threat. I just Google how to use metro and prazipro together to deworm my discus and it came up to this threat. My question is what's the ratio of it and how long do use it.

when mixing Prazi-Pro and Metro you dose them as if you where using one at a time, mixing them does not change the dose.

I would dose separately because Prazi you can dose once for 48 hours and then do the metro for 5-7 days but redose everyday with a water change as the metro will degrade

If your intent is to worm the fish, then there is no need to continue with the prazi for more than two days. The only thing the prazi will do for you in this regard is to rid your fish of tapeworms, in which case a two day dose is more than adequate. If your trying to treat for flukes, then the metro is pointless. So, if worms dose both at full strenght and discontinue the praze after the seccond day, continueing with the metro for a full ten days. You will however need to do a followup treatment in three weeks with the prazi.
