    Default 6.1 ph?

    for some reason my system setup is staying at a ph of 6.1.....i have a ph controller to dose co2 but have it set at 6.5...im afraid to lower it any furthe to get into the 5.0 ph range...is 6.1 ph safe for discus?

    5.8 pH is ideal. You're great at 6.1. Your discus love you for such a number.

    CO2 dosing can cause problems if you dose too much to force down the pH. Do you happen to know what your KH is? Knowing the KH is important to calculate what your CO2 ppm is. Too high = discus stress.

    my kh is 17.9...my ph is 6.1....im wondring if i can set my ph contoller down to 6.0 to allow the co2 to come on or is there enuff co2 in there already?...right now theres no co2 being dosed it never gets higher than 6.1?

    ooooooh, I dunno-- seems to me a Ph of 6.1 is lovely, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
