Id say too much water movement personally. As the fish are so small it may cause them to struggle especially as there is no decor for them to shelter behind. They look nice fish.

    What's the problem?

    Are they all eating?

If your worried that they are huddled behind that filter and not swimming around, welcome to the world of discus

It takes them awhile to become brave and still they will retreat to a hiding spot at times.

Your bubble wall is fine and so are the sponge filters, the other device you mentioned I'm guessing is a hang on back power filter should be fine too, but could be freaking them out from the noise they create. I use power filters no problem.

If they are eating and are not dark in color they will be fine.

If they aren't eating, start changing water. as much as you can every day and fill out the disease questionnaire in the sticky part of the disease and meds section.

    Good luck.
