cant put people who are homesteaders on ignore list

But a general comment everyone....we all have the choice of reading a post or pm or not to....and we have a choice of posting a reply and HOW we post it.....Personally I would rather keep that and just use it wisely...but thats just me....we have an ignore feature for those that just want to be free of dealing with a person that they can't see eye to eye with. Either is fine by me if it cuts down on the need for moderation. Thanks,

imo what turns me off the most lately is the bs'ers continue and when something is said about it the commenter gets a talking to.
I like to participate in learning/idea swapping from doing and real past experience in a truthful way. when that gets led by bs'ers imo they should be countered, but this is not my site so I'll just back away. eventually the bs'er get caught in their own bs anyway. JMO

Jim...here in lays the issue. When people start accusing each other of being a BS artist...it starts a nasty cycle...I can't tell you how many times I have read something posted by someone "knowledgeable" that was in my experience total hogwash. Now when I read that I have 3 choices...

1) walk away as its not worth my time
2) tell them they are full of it in harsh and uncivil tones...which accomplishes nothing and leads to a flame thread...and that is a fact.
3) State my opinion in a civil fashion and hope that if enough others do the truth is known.
*This is the way that actually works best here on Simply regardless of what some think...That I know.

My problem as the owner here is that though most members here understand this I have a handful that either

1) don't care
2) don't think rules apply to them
3) don't realize that they are part of the problem by how they post
4) are narrow minded and only they know the real truth
5) are socially inept and it carries over to their posts
6) are drunk when they post
7) are bored with life or have personal baggage and issues
8) are literally stalking someone they don't like and just are waiting for an opportunity
9) have been in this a few short years and are parroting experts with little experience themselves
10) ...have an inner Troll that they are too weak to keep chained up

I've seen it and then some. Discus Hobbyist's have no shortage of the self righteous...true for most deep hobbies...But that doesn't make it acceptable here.

No one is saying to not disagree, or to be cozy friends with everyone... but theres a lot of ways to write something and show you disgree...getting into an angry derogatory verbal fist fight may be entertaining for some...but I consider it a waste of my forum's bandwidth and disrespectful to what this forum is trying accomplish in the hobby.

Whether anyone likes it or not..I require people to use a certain tone here and follow a certain protocol. Old saying...When in Rome you do as the Romans... When on Simplydiscus....you do as the forum asks all members.

Lol....I didn't realize that this was so urgent... but its Not happening Jim... I'm aware of that feature and If I could separate homesteaders and sponsors from "moderators" I would...and I am looking into that.

However.....enabling that function would allow users to ignore my forum Moderators and admins (myself included) ...and that ain't happening. Anyone that wants to ignore a forum Moderator already has that feature...its called not logging into Simply!

You know Al I was talking to a friend today that had a great suggestion, if we have conflict with each other on the Forum maybe we should just PM each other our phone numbers to hash out our differences on the phone and leave it off the Forum. If we do that we might not agree with each other but at least it puts a voice to the issue and you can explain yourself better. Just a thought..............Josie

You know Al I was talking to a friend today that had a great suggestion, if we have conflict with each other on the Forum maybe we should just PM each other our phone numbers to hash out our differences on the phone and leave it off the Forum.
