Royals have many striations. Kenneth
Right now I have to tefe greens. I saw the name royal green tefes and wondering if they were more green? Does anyone have pics of royal green tefes? Please post your pics here.

So would it be ok too mix the to types of tefes?
Yes it would be alright. Actually you can mix any kind of wilds together. Its really all preference
Just QT prior to mixing. Always best practice.
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
It isn't just more striations. A royal wild has striations that run the length of the body. A semi royal will have striations that don't run the full length of the body. They aren't a different type of tefe. They carry a higher price tag because a very small percentage of wilds will be Royals.
Mixing wilds is not just a matter of personal preference. The different types - Heckels, Blues, Reds and Greens come from different regions of the Amazon. The water conditions are different for each of these. Do a little reading and you will find out what these differences are. As an example the ph for a Heckle is much lower than it is for the others. While some people choose to mix them others don't due to these differences and the fact that they aren't found together in the rivers or lakes they come from.

Larry you have a valid point with the differences, but a small part is also preference I would never mix different types. It looks odd to me. I have a tank of tefes along with japuras and then a tank of curua
