On my 150 I ran two emperor 400's and two magnum 350's.The only thing I'm doing different on my 180 is I've attached bio-wheels to the magnums.
hey guys Im getting ready to set up my 125 for my grown out discus. My question is how much filtration I need.I have an ac110 I plan on using and I just bought a 525gph canister filter.should I get another 110 ?or is 1 HOB and 1 canister be good enough?I dont want to use my hydro sponges in this tank aside from seeding the new tank.

good, youre running 1500 gph,if I add one more ac 110 Ill be up to 1525 gph.Seems like alot of turn over.Thought 7-8 times volume of turnover was good, better to over filtrate than to under Id imagine.Thanx
With proper water changes, over filtration is completely unnecessary on a discus tank. Your canister, and the 110 is more than enough.

cool,my storage barrel is 90 gals so thatll work out good.O and I drilled the tank and ran the plumbing into my drainline.keepin it easy
Hi everybody. I use AC 70 and 110 with 2 sponge filters for my 60 gal. I do 30 to 50% WC everyday, sometimes every other day. I am quite new to discus keeping and I understand that discus don't like lots of turbulence. I am wondering if it is too much filtration/turbulence for a 60 gallon tank. Any suggestions? I am sort of new to posting. I hope I didn't steal somebody else's forum.
