I went to have one last check on my fish tonight. What I saw made me chuckle. So I am posting this quick snapshot.
Here's the set up: there is a new spawn to the right of the photo. Her mate is in the middle of the photo, along with 2 others, that are trying to get dipping rights to the poor female that is having trouble getting to her site. She is also laying eggs right now. The male will go have a quick check on his first spawn every so often. Then run back to the action. His girlfriend is basically taking care of things by herself while he runs off to play.
Funny fish. Of course, the others on the left are just sitting back and watching the show.
