Do they need a larger tank?
I got 8 dime size discus 16 days ago and they are growing like weeds. I have them in a 15 gal tank. Now they are quarter to half dollar size. The question I have is when will I need to move them to to a larger tank? I have a 20 gal 50, and 90 gal tanks available but nothing set up now. I don't want to stunt them by not moving them to a bigger tank when necessary. I am curious to know how others move up in tank sizes as they grow.
Thank you Fred
P.S. These are my first discus

Depends how many water changes you do

I am doing 2 water changes a day of about 60% each and cleaning the bottom several times a day.
Thank you Fred

Hello, I do two water changes a day with fry that small about 50% after their first meal of the day and about 80% to 90% after the last meal. I would change the water with aged aerated water at the same Temp. you can move them to a 20 gallon at this point and make sure your feeding many times in small amounts through out the day.......Just my two cents ........Josie

I'd upgrade, a 29 is good too. Then in about a year, you could use it as a breeder.
