    Hi Rick,
You can still get some of those egg yolk from the food bank. Since your are now in Antioch, check out if Fintastic if still open, Phil Ng is the owner also
a very good Discus breeder, Samson of Universal Discus now lives in Antioch but hasn't been very active in the Discus World.

Thanks for sharing Rick. Nice fish. I would love to see more pictures. Nice to know Samson is still around. He sold me some nice fish years ago. He threw in four of a new steain he wanted me to try. They were nice White Butterfles.

    kraig,
The Wattleys are offsprings from the original stock purchase from Jack by Kasaka(Hawaii Discus) when the turquoise first developed, I received some of these
back in the 80's from Mr. Lau as we were trading fish from the mainland to Hawaii. The Corealian type of Wattley Discus didn't come out till the late 80's some of these were sold to a importer in Arizona call Regal Discus.
I have lost count how many generations these original Wattley Discus have gone thru but the end is near once I relocate.

Cliff so you still have this bloodline going? I didn't realize that. Wow. Jack's original Turquoise are my favorite strain of his. The Corealian I have never seen in Adult form. It seems they are more blue then turquoise? Your knowledge of discus history I find very interesting. Thanks!

    Hi Cliff,

A couple of months ago I bought Fin-Tastik from Phil Ng.

Now I'll try and put my discus breeding skills to work, been away from it since the early 90's and I'm 75 now...oy... what did I get myself into:0) ..Now all I have to do is save my money for some good breeders..I spent all my money when I bought the store :0(

I am not far behind you in age. At least you bought the store and not the farm.

Hello Kraig, may I know the air pump you used in the hatching tank (1 gallon hex tank)?

    Nice videos by the way.

    Rick,
Congrats with the store think of it as a hobby/job. I was at Benson's last year and they mention that Phil didn't alway have the store open.

    Hi Kraig,
Yes, I do still have those bloodline but not near my hatchery, I got wiped out too many times and the Wattley Discus would be the first to be infected. Since this
thread is about raising artifical I sent a article to my friend in Europe that posted it on http:// http://www.mondodiscus.com/discus/ar...scus-artifical
also their should be another article in NADA's Newletter probably back in 2007 or 2008.

I am using a commercial airblower for the whole hatchery. The valves make it easy to obtain the one bubble per second rate. If using typical hobbyist air pumb I use t-valves and old school gang valves. Open the valve where most of the air blows out of a open end to regulate the flow. Depth of the airline hose in the pan will impact the airflow too.
