Surprised to know that using a turkey blaster can cause deformaties as well as strong water current.

I am using a commercial airblower for the whole hatchery. The valves make it easy to obtain the one bubble per second rate. If using typical hobbyist air pumb I use t-valves and old school gang valves. Open the valve where most of the air blows out of a open end to regulate the flow. Depth of the airline hose in the pan will impact the airflow too.

Thanks for the info and clearing up my 'mystery'. When I was watching the video I thought it was a hobbyist air pump, but since you have a room full of fish, it would be strange to not have a commerical air blower. The reason why I ask was because I'm looking for a good hobbyist air pump (no need to answer this as it may lead to going off-topic).

None for sale because of the limited amount and the long rest between spawning there no guarantee that male will be fertile.

Makes me wonder why for years sooooo many discus breeders insisted that 1rst day free swimming discus fry couldn't eat bbs. I, as well, have had success with feeding them bbs on their first day. Im so glad that others have done it too. Surely there is not some grand attempt of cover up to prevent alot of people successfully rasing discus babies artificially? I mean. I would think this method would have been popular decades ago since alot of other species of cichlids are done the exact same way. Curious.

The first day swimming fry spin around when taking the first bite out of the BBS. Actually they are biting off the appendages of the BBS. This is nothing new as I was recently told of discus being fed only BBS for their first meal over 40 years ago. In fact I have heard of discus collectors in the Amazon region successfully keeping discus fry in basins which contained only driftwood which was removed from the place of collection. I have done this with Reef Bugs. Reminds me of how a Reef Tank can be supported by only living rock, algae and micro-organisms. Does it all have to be so complexed?

As far as the cover up goes. Just 17 years ago one could sell many 1 inch discus for $29.95 each every week. These breeders didn't have to worry about body shape or anything other than the fish arriving alive for that matter. Do you think the successful breeders of the day wanted every average Joe easily raising these fish artificially? After all artificial rearing of fry can produce up to 300 fry every six to eight days.

Soooo it sounds like you are saying that breeders did indeed put out information either insinuating or stating directly that a smear mixture was needed to be successful at rearing discus fry artificially as opposed to using bbs as their first feeding? Also would you go as far as to say that discus fry being fed bbs as their first feeding will grow as fast and do just as well (if not better) than discus fry starting on a egg yolk mixture as their first feeding?
