Correct me if i'm wrong....but I think Skip was suggesting if the final completed mix can be made just using the meat grinder???
I would think you all run the finish product through a mixer or food processor before bagging it.
Reason being is I italian and make lots and lots of sausage. The meat grinder was our first toy as a kid and only reduces the meat into chunks.
    Maybe I just missed something?????

This isn't correct. Meat grinders do exactly that, grind up the meat. I don't run it through the mixer to make it any smaller. I actually run the mixer fairly slow with only the purpose of thourghly mixing all ingredients.

    Hi Ralph,
Yes, as a boy 50 to 60 years ago I too cranked one of those meat grinders making sausage for the family and of course shared with relatives. The cut was very coarse for making sausage. However for our discus mix we need smaller chunks. There are different sizes of discs to fit most newer grinders, The meat grinder disc we use today has much smaller holes and/or more cutting blades which makes for smaller "chunks" .... often a second pass might be needed to make the "chunks" a tad smaller.

    Hope this helps...

    Sorry people...I stand corrected then.
I must be still thinking old school. Time to catch-up into reality.
Thanks for heads up Larry, Stan.

Well I grew up in the city and none of my family hunted so I don't have the old school experience but I am certainly old enough, lol. Like Stan said they come with several different size grinding wheels and pretty sharp blades now a days.

Thanks but Nothern Tools does not have a store in the Caribbean where I am from. Online with shipping maybe an option if there are no such stores near enough to the Show venue

The store listed in Stockbridge is the closest to the Hotel. It is about 20 miles away.

Hmm, I wonder if I can get away with spending a $100 on fish stuff two days in a row? I've been using a hand grinder for years and it ain't getting any easier on the shoulders. I usually make anywhere from 10 to 15 pounds of finished product each time I make food, so it takes a while.

Doesn't anyone else mix all their ingredients in a 5 gallon pail?
