I've only found one place in my/our area that had half a clue and thats Tropiquatics in lombard.Jim has been in it in one form or another for over30 years.And he buys his discus from local breeders.Unfortunatly for him,so do i.

Bill, that is where I got the fish that is my avatar. Turned out to be a nice fish. Out of 20 or so lfs iI have visited in the area, this is the only discus I have ever bought from one.

They didn't turn out half bad, I particularly like the last one. I've got a nice mate waiting here for her.

next time you in a LFS and follow the sale guy, if he is using the same hand net for all tanks ..... then that is a good sign all fishes in the store are contaminated, regardless of sources. If you have a good QT system then chances are you will overcome. For a beginner, he/she will end up with dead fishes in a couple of weeks.
