Awwww they look great Larry can't wait to see them grow up.......Josie
For over 6 months now I have been watching (with envy) Chad (Sabres1) grow out a couple of groups of Stendker juvies. Quite a few of you have seen his threads on his Ring Leopard Pigeons. Those of you that came to the Show were AMAZED when you saw these fish in person. I now have a group of Stendker Red Pigeons that I am going to try to follow Chad's practices with and see if I can even begin to duplicate his results. These guys went free swimming on 5/29 so they are now 45 days old. So far so good.

They are looking great Larry, I must say there are quite a few of them
It is a pretty good size batch and they will all stay in this 40 gallon breeder for most of their young lives. Of course the numbers will decrease due to culling. This is one of the things that Chad did with his. At the NADA Show there was a good bit of discussion about overcrowding and the positive effects it might have. I had already decided before the Show that I was going to give this a try but it was great talking about this with a lot of different people in small groups. The idea is that with the overcrowding the fry/juvies will feel competition for food and therefore vigorusly attack what is given to them. I have already witnessed this. I will try to get a video this weekend of them when I give them the afternoon beefheart feeding. As soon as it hits the water they are on it. Of course with this many in the tank they are getting a 90% water change daily.
