Marc, what are the fish in the first, third and fifth pictures?
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Hi Pat,
On the first picture there is one of my planiloricaria cryptodon.I like these fishes very much. They are very quiet and you can see them always.
On the third picture you see a few guianacara owroewefi grand lassaut.it are still youngsters. When the males are older they get an orange head like the colour of my nhamunda rose discusfish.
On the fifth picture you see my L 600.You also see there a L075 pleco. This one I haven"t anymore.Sold because I had too many plecos.
You see i have more fishes than only my discusfish. It is also in nature. This is obviously the reason why wigglers never will come in my tank.No problem.I don"t have time enough to raise them.It could be that you think I have too many various fishes. It is possible. But I like to see more behaviour of all the other fishes.
Marc, Is planiloricaria cryptodon a plankton feeder with those specialized mouth parts? Also what type of tetra is in the seventh picture? Is guianacara owroewefi grand lassaut one of the earth eaters?
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Planiloricarias are worm and larvae eaters. Those fancy mustaches help them find their prey in the sand by providnig biggest possible area for taste buds. Charachines are Poptella orbicularis, also known as discus tetra.
Hi Pat.Couln"t answer you better than plecochico did.Thnx mate!!!!He didn"t answer you about the guianacara owroewefi grand lassaut. They are not really earth eaters. They make only holes when the babies are coming. Here a video
when the fishes are mature.Video is of somebody I know from a dutch aquaforum.I really like these fishes.
Those are a really nice looking fish actually, love the orange on them. I've never seen them for sale here I don't think (guianacara owroewefi).

I really like these fishes. The males get beautiful orange heads when they are full grown. The same colour as my Nhamunda Rose discusfish. The fishes come from Suriname. You see this species but there is also the guianacara red spotted available here. This last species is a little smaller. Also very beautiful.Google it.You can"t believe your eyes.
Nice fish, I got wilds with pleco as well. L27s' l24and l64. I like the combo.
Marc,
Nice group of tankmates... I like your assortment of plecos
@Laupao:Thnx for the compliment.Wish you could see the rest of my plecos.I also have a L114,L264s and L91s.What is not eaten directly by my discusfishes will bet eaten by my plecos.
Here a vid where you can see the rest of my plecos while they are eating and another one with dancing plecos:
Really nice fish and tank. What kind of water do you keep them in? How do you go about cleaning the substrate?
Chris
@Spiffyfish:I have a sump for the good bacteries.Besides I use an Eheim external pump. This pump has a capacity of 1700 litres in a hour. This one I use for cleaning the water.Once a week I clean this pump.
Yesterday I made some new pictures of the other fishes in my discustank. Here are the results:
Did I just see a black ghost knife fish in the tank? How do you man gage to feed all the fishes?
