That is because I didn't put enough meth blue and they are being raised without their parents it's fungus that has grown from the unfertilized eggs. The fungus won't harm the batch it's just unsightly.........Josie

Oh, the reason I asked is that I have a similar kind of fungus/bacteria in my tank everyday, it starts on the leftover food, its like this cottony thing spore kind of and this looked similar. Is this a bad thing to have in the tank or is it normal?

Well it's a little different then uneaten food but basically the same thing. What I do is clean the tank of uneaten food at the end of the day to try to avoid that issue. But with eggs it's a little hard ....Josie
