    Default 180g filter ideas needed

Hey everyone. Stepping up my show tank from a 75 to 180. The 180 will be sand substrate with driftwood. No plants. I currently do 50% wc two to three times a week With a bigger tank I would like to do it only once a week because of the amount of water Planning on putting 12-15 discus with cories in it. Was wanting any suggestions on filters before I actually order the tank. I currently run ac110s so I'm not very familiar with canisters or sumps. Please post any suggestions you have.

I would put a sump on that baby. I suspect you will need to do two 50% per week. I have a 230 with nine wilds and they need two 50% per week to keep them shining.
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening

I would go with a sump if you can order the tank with overflows that would be the way to go I have two 125 and do 50% WC once a week and all is good

Thank you.The filter tubes blended in well, once it was planted, and the heaters are in-line,in the stand.Never did a sump, and was/is on a budjet,so had to use what I already had.

Not yet, but I am planning on creating something for a 75G as soon as I get around to drilling it for bulkheads

I use one on a 1200ltr breeding system , My sump is only 150ltr and works better than any other filtration I have used .

Wow that looks awfully involved. I'm planning one as we speak.

30L tank. insert (1) 4" piece of poret foam(coarse) 4" from left side of tank where water will flow in. (2) 2" pieces of foam (1 med and 1 fine) 6" from right side of tank.

some air stones and K1 media in the middle. return pump on the far right side of the tank.
