Prohibit Levamisole Treatment

Hello, I will start to give maintenance to my discus and other fish and I want to start to deworm this weekend and I will like to know the dose for using Levamisole Hydrochloride drench solution (Prohibit)

I read you need only 5gm of 100% Levamisole to treat 100 gal. I want to know if this is the right dose?

The medication that I got is 47grams of pure Levamisole out of 52 grams wich makes it 90% Levamisole.

Also I want to know if I can mix with Praziquentel since Agri labs makes a birds solution with Levamisole and Prazi?

Any help greatly appreciated.

So if 1 gram treats 110 I will only need 1/2 of a gram to treat a 55 Gallon tank right?

Now I will leave the medication for 24 hours with light out and then re-treat in 7 days?

Ok, here is my interpretation of how to treat with prohibit. Since I had a hard time getting information lets use this chart to make it simple to anybody. Attention this is my interpretation please check it out and let me know if I need to make any changes or you can change it if you will. Like I said use it at your own risk due to the fact I haven't use it myself. I will try this doses in the next couple days and I will let you know how I did. But based on all information I collected in the internet www.loaches.com etc etc. These are the numbers that resulted in my investigation. Note: all results are rounded up.

Prohibit Dose Recommendations
Total weight 52 gr
Total active ingredients (levamisole) 46.8 gr
Total active ingredients (levamisole) % 90.00%
Prohibit is 90% Levamisole 10% filler

Recommended Dosage 100% Levamisole per www.loaches.com Dr. Roy Yanong 2mg/liter or 2ppm/Liter
To get 1 gram you have to use 1.15 grams of Prohibit 2.3mg/Liter = 9mg/gal

Tank Calculations @ 9mg / gallon
10 gallon tank 100mg
15 gallon tank 150mg
20 gallon tank 200mg
30 gallon tank 300mg
40 gallon tank 350mg
55 gallon tank 500mg or .5 gram
65 gallon tank 600 mg
75 gallon tank 700 mg
90 gallon tank 800 mg
100 gallon tank 900 mg
110 gallon tank 1000mg or 1 gram

If you don't have a scale that can weight such small numbers we can use (a volar) (Ismael) calculations
Divide the package into tsp it should come out to 14 tsp
14 tsp divided by 46.8 grams of active Levamisole = to 3.35 gr/tsp
Calculation: 9mg/gal (.009 *375gal)= 3.37gr of Levamisole

1 tsp = 3.35gr will treat 375 gallons of water
3/4tsp = 2.5gr will treat 275 gallons of water
1/2tsp = 1.7gr will treat 180 gallons of water
1/4tsp = .850mg will treat 90 gallons of water
1/8tsp = .420mg will treat 45 gallons of water

Instructions:
Step 1
Mix 1 gram to 100 ml of water or Mix 1/4 tsp into 100 ml of water
10ml will treat 10 gallons 10 ml will treat 9 gallons

Step 2
Add the recommended dose and wait 24 hours hr with lights off.

Step 3
Do a water change 50% to 100% add carbon to eliminate any medication left
and don’t forget to clean the gravel or bottom of the aquarium.

Step 4
Re treat 1 week later (take carbon out)

Step 5
Do a water change 50% to 100% add carbon to eliminate any medication left

Step 6 (optional for those that want to do it right the 1st time)
Re treat 1 week later (take carbon out)

Step 7
