Thumbs down Azoo Battery Backup Pump

I have been using this air pump for a while:

    http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...fm?pcatid=8120

It switches automatically to battery during power loss, then recharges when power is restored. It is supposed to run for 20 hours intermittently in one of the settings. Well, today I was able to test it. Power was cut at 8:30 am in my street today because they needed to trim trees. My daughter came home at 2:00 pm and the pump was not working anymore. I donīt know when it stopped working, but it worked less than 6 hours. Very disappointing performance. Fortunately, power came back at 3:00 pm and my discus are fine. But I would not recommend this product.

I have one, and it only runs intermittently for a couple of hours.

I would not run at all when plugged into the power outlet, and would run off the batteries exclusively... 4 D-cell batteries got me about 3 days of air supply.
I wondered about this item, its only $31 on kensfish and even though it may not have worked automatically it DID work on battery for 3 days?

Yes, 3 days on 4 d cell batteries, howevef as the 3 days progressed air output was lower and lower. (as the batteries faded obviously)
