Interesting, care to describe the test? Be interesting to see how long a virgin sponge seeded with a pond bomb would take to cycle out 2 ml of ammonia compared to a cycled sponge (in another tank of course). Couple of 29/30 gallon tanks side by side and you would have a nice test setup.

    Josie,

Thank you for starting this thread with the pure pond bomb I sent you. I will send all those wanting water parameters while cycling with the pure pond products to this thread.

Now to answer some of your questions:

The pure pond bomb is just like what Skip said it is an about tennis ball sized bacteria ball that can cycle up to 20,000 liters of water and can also be cut into smaller pieces to use in smaller values of water. Per the manufacturer you can not overdose this product which like the pure pond and pure aquarium are perfect for cycling a fish tank. I have included some pictures of the box they come in.

Thank you again Josie for starting this thread.

Ok guys I received my 300 gallon tank today and this is the tank that I want to perform the test on the pond bomb. The tank should be up and running by Saturday specks are 300 gallon tanks with a 75 gallon sump. the sump will be bio balls in the first chamber, moving bed in the second and the third will carry the pumps and heaters. I will post a video of me putting the bomb in and taking my first tests........Josie

How did this work out for you Josie? I might be setting up a large tank soon and this would help me avoid ammonia dosing.
