Wondered how they looked! Very cool! Can't wait to see the results. What size tank do you use them in?
After testing a lot of different ways I think I got the ultimate way of hatching and growing artificial Discus. This will replace the bowls, doing water changes 3x a day etc etc. I think with this system a kid could breed Discus artificially.
First I want to thank Rick (nc0gnet0) for his cooperation in this.
First test pipes:
This grew out into those Discus Hans breeding pipes:
I grew a few batches this way and for me it worked great, the feeding plate (piece of rubber) is now replaced by food disc (made by Barb our cone lady)
Josie is at the moment testing 2 of those pipes and will make a video report of it all.
Each pipe comes with 2 different size mesh, 1 for the first 7 to 10 days, take babies out and replace mesh (more open) in pipe and put babies back in the pipe.
Working on a patent on those pipes, but I didn't want to hold this back for the hobby, more updates will follow if I get some extra time,
Hans

All advice I give, is because I've good results with it, you're free to copy it. It's not a rule, it's just my way. Ohhhh and don't take me serious, I'm most of the time kidding

Quite interesting... Will love to see the results
Results, yeah that was pretty stupid, I had 3 pipes with a batch growing, because I'm getting ready for the big shipment coming in I getting tanks ready, moved the babies from the pipes into a 20 gallon........... before I took a picture.
Now I could have trowed them back in the pipes for a picture but didn't want to do that to those little guys.
You can use any size of tank, the bigger (more water volume) the better, only the pipes are 14" high, water has to be lower in the tank the pipe is in.
Now the pipes come with an "air lift" it will blow water from the tank, into the pipe, something for a normal, single tank. What I did was an air tube from the tank above the tank with the pipes and let the water flow trough there into the pipe, I can do this because my tanks are on a system with overflow on each tank.
Thanks Pat, think so too lol lol lol
Larry, I made about a six extra (by hand) at the moment but need to buy some equipment, to make it all more ....... perfect. The mesh at the bottom of the pipe is exchangeable first because you want to keep the fry in the pipe and if they get bigger change to a more open mesh ===> fry stays in ====> food left over (bbs) falls out. Now changing the mesh can be done but it's not easy, I've to sand edges down to make it easy for everybody to do.
It's easier to glue the mesh on the inner tube, but if you "kill" somehow the mesh, you can trow the pipe away, I want to make it easy to change the mesh, working on that.
Price: the acrylic pipe + 2 mesh (1 fine + one more open) is going to be $100.00 + shipping. I'm working on a total package, pipes, cone, feeding disc, food etc. but have to talk with Barb about that. Important is that you need a little hole in top of the cone to put it easy in the pipe.
WAlter see above, working on that.
Thanks!!!!!!!!
Got your message THANK YOU buddy!!!!!
REsults are GOOD lol lol
A food mix I made that works,

Congratulations Hans! What a neat invention, I will be happy to work with you some more. Just send me a pm or use my email, in my profile. Or I can give you my phone #. Good luck inventor man,
Barb
Hans,
What is the inner diameter of one of the tubes? When you are ready for full scale production, don't forget to hit the Angel fish forums, my guess is you will sell 10x as many to them (do to a larger selling audience).
