Sorry for the delay in getting you moved in Jeff...we ran into some delays with the building inspector ...I made the mistake of mentioning that you kept discus and he actually made me upgrade your electrical and then had to put in a bigger septic tank to accommodate the water changes...unbelievable.. but oh well...you are all set now!

Hi, Jeff, I'm new, too. And I don't even have any discus yet! Just preparing for the past three months. And today, I learned why they suggest bare bottom tanks! I've been cleaning regularly, changing water regularly, my water parameters are great, but when I started scooping up the half-inch layer of gravel: YUCK. Only a half inch of gravel, but, again, YUCK! I'd have never ever guessed there could be that much debris. So good thing I decided to go with potted plants!
