..... okay.. breaks over.

Hi all,
Been making my homemade Beefheart mix today for what seems like an eternity...thought I'd take a badly needed break and post a few pics...
I hate waste..so when I make BH , I usually re cycle the scraps, fat, and connective tissue... In the Summer...I use it for crab bait ..but in the winter I use the fat for suet feeders for the birds and I also put a bit of the meat scraps out for our resident hawks.
These were taken from about 75 foot away, from inside my home...The glass was not exactly clean and I had to balance the lens on our couch.. but still.. some neat shots...
This red shouldered Hawk has made multiple trips here all day.

Truly a beautiful bird, Al.
No hawks here, only this snow eater . . .
He comes for the seeds.
Awesome pics! I particularly liked the one where he is just flying off....
Excellent pics! Here we have Red Tail Hawks, Bald and Golden Eagles. The Bald Eagles have a nest nearby. The tree that the nest was in blew down in a storm a few years ago so a pole was put up and the nest put on top of it. The eagles still use it.

Beautiful pics Al. I would be watching that all day if I could.
Thanks for the pics,
Kacey
Great photos. We have hawks and owls here that I love to watch. I once walked right up on an owl sitting in my yard with its catch. I think he was blinded by the car lights when I pulled in the drive. I got about 3 feet from it when it flew off.

Thanks guys.

Great photos. I put out lots of bird seeds this winter. I put out fat for them too. The deep snow made it tough on them this year. It's fun watching all the different types of birds eat.
Thats really cool - I bet he was very appriciative of the free meal during winter :-)
