I use 29's for breeding pairs.
As I allowed the hobby to grow over time (euphemism for addiction ), I bought several 29's to use as breeders. I'm not using them currently, and at this point I'm just using 55's and 75's. I need to set up a 29 as a hospital or quarantine, but wondering if folks use them for much else. I'm kind of using John's "move the parents" method with my breeders; they spawn in the 55's, and when ready, I move the parents and the fry get the tank.
Lifting dictionaries literally strengthens your muscles.
You can try and use them as breeder tanks and put them to use.

They are mostly used as breeding tanks. I'll be getting a couple more later this week. I prefer breeding in 40 cubes but I'll breed in anything from a 29 to a 65 wide. I don't have any 55's. I don't like the shape of them. Not enough surface area for my taste.

I used 20G for breeding and quarantine.
I have 20's but I only use them for breeding Angels. I know that they are large enough for Discus breeding. Lots of people use them. IMO they aren't large enough for a big pair and a lot of fry for very long before you have to move them to a larger tank.

I had a pair breed just fine in my 27g hexagon so i dont see why not
I prefer 40 breeders, which are much easier to clean. As Liz says, I think 29's are too small to keep water quality clean for fry.
