Hi folks, just set up a Discus tank again after keeping them about 15 years ago. Lots has changed, and I bet this time around I'l be a lot more successful. Just got 6 beautiful leopard snakeskins from Hans on Friday, and they're doing great and eating well. Thanks to all who shared their experience on this board, i've learned a ton!

Press the 'insert video' tab in the quick reply box. A box pops up where you can insert the link to your video. Press o.k. and you're good to go.
Welcome back to the hobby

welcome back to the hobby and to the forum OP. your snakeskins are such cuties, still a little timid in their tank but they look great. I like your simple tank layout, do you have tannins in your water?

thanks! the above video was day 1, i picked them up in person from Hans and drove them home last friday. I do have tannins in the water, but i've been doing 50% WC/day. The wood is still relatively new. Here's one from today, they've been eating a ton:
I like the tannins. beautiful set up OP very clean looking with the white stand and background

thanks! i may try some purigen/chemipure in the near future, but i'm loving the simplicity right now. WCs aren't killing me yet, i've got it down to 20 mins with python.
you should leave the tannins. your fish like it. and it looks very natural and lovely against the white.

and a quick day 11 update, everyone doing great!
