How big a wild discus can grow in captivity?
I mean those designer variety can grow upto 8-9 inch from egg, but is it possible to raise a wild to such size ?
I have a question on the wilds I have seen heckels and heckel cross but their still called wilds what's the difference
Jeanne
Hi Jeanne, a wild discus is technically a discus which is caught as a wild fish. Many of the strain titles we see with cross in the name hint of a wild fish recently in the linage of the fish. But who knows how many generations far back that wild fish was used. Basically all fish with cross in the name are domestic fish unless the fish are caught in the wild. One exception is a fish I personally have which is a heckel cross and it is a wild fish and came in with a bunch of wild discus.
