That is just, plain cool Adam. That is a huge egg sack!!

Eggs were fertile this time! They'll start eating in 9-10 days, but I'll toss in a leaf and some waste from the parents' tank in a few days.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Shoot, they should be able to live off that egg sack for a month!

Stupid question maybe, but what would happen if you tried to hatch them without the tumbler?
Believe it or not, the yolk only lasts them a couple weeks.
It's best to let dad care for them until they hatch, but if he kicks them out, they go into a specimen container hung in the tank with an airstone and methylene blue. With any sort of care, they'd just fungus.
Very nice Adam!
That's totally cool Adam! Very impressive feat.

They look like little bubbles bopping around. I hope you’ll share more with us as they grow. That’s the coolest thing I’ve seen all day.

Thanks, everyone. Makes me feel less like a nut knowing other people find stuff like this interesting.
Day 2: Already starting to develop the stripes. There are a total of eight (average spawn, if not slightly below).

Wow Adam that’s incredible! Call me a nut, but I’m really enjoying this thread.
