Nice!!! I must get a bigger house so I can keep up with everyone!!
These guys came Wednesday and they are still recovering from shipping. They are Rio Vichada Altums and super skiddish. I do not think they are very common in the aquarium trade. They are in a 50 gallon QT which is being rehabbed. Forgive the nasty looking back. I will be reattaching the background after these guys move to their home tank which is a 90 with a sump. You may note the bruised lips in the vid. I scared them bad when I was wiping down the bottom of the tank during a water change yesterday.

Those are beautiful even if still recovering from shipping. I have always wanted some Altums, maybe someday. Will you be having some live plants in their tank eventually?

Or get rid of that pesky couch in the living room, that's enough space for a 125gal.

Very nice Pat! Where did you get them?
Hi Kirby, I got them from Mike at Gold Coast Aquatics. I have known Mike a long time and he has been an altum keeper for years. He showed them to me back in Jan 2019 and I really liked them. He did not think he can bring any in as he had waiting too long but I suggested he try anyway. Next thing I know Mike contacted me and asked if I wanted any and I passed. Then I thought about for a good long while and finally committed in April. There were only six left. I finally got my act together and they arrived Wednesday. Ok, long winded answer. lol

Nice altums, Pat. Do they usually have the spotting under the dorsal, or is it unique to this population?
These guys are slowly letting me in ...

Nice find Pat,
I really like these albums with those tall dorsal. I thought the spots were unique too. Are you putting them with discus or your planted tank? Exciting things happening at your house!

If the discus are happy, I’m happy
Really nice group, Pat! Much better than mine that I got at Wetspot 6 months ago (at a little over quarter size.) Mine are doing well, but, I wouldn't say they are as nice of specimens as yours. They had a lot of fin damage when received them. Not sure if it was from ammonia burns or just more generalized stress from shipping, netting, etc...
But, these are my first Angels of any sort and I am amazed at their interactive intelligence. They are always aware of me and far more responsive to me than my discus. I have certainly fell in love with these guys.
