Home made beef heart, Freeze dried black worms
I’ve selected my discus but I might have trouble if I get food with enhancers. So my question is, what foods do not contain color and enhancers? I don’t have the discus yet.
Home made beef heart, Freeze dried black worms
Thanks, are those two the only options? I should be able to get the black worms but I know nothing about making the beef heart. (:
Do you happen to know any brands that don’t include them?
Thank you so much! But what does AI stand for? Also would only feeding those two things provide a staple diet for discus? Also where can I buy no enhancer beefheart? Is Aquatics Food Inc. fine?

It's not AI (or ai). Pat is referring to Al (it's a L, not an i) Sabetta, the owner of Simply Discus. Al is also a supplier for FDBW, which can be order from his website, AquaticSuppliers.com.
Oh, looked like an i, they seem to be out of stock as well. But thanks! Also can they cause parasites? I saw something on it.

Check the ones with spinach added and I believe he is in stock on those I ran into the same issue when looking.
From what I've read the live worms can cause parasites depending on the source but if they're freeze dried that shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks! I don't know if you use it but how much would 50 grams - 200 grams last me? I know it depends on how much they are fed but, I will be getting six discus which should be about 4".
Depends on feeding regiment and fish size but I just got 50 grams in to start with and see how it went. I had forgotten what the size of bags really translated to cube wise. There are more cubes than I expected to be honest but I'm hoping for it to be a staple food so I'm sure I'll be ordering again before I know it.
I'm just getting back into things but I ordered from Al when I had my last tank and they're a great clean, high protein food to feed. The fish loved them too.
Thank you!
Also does anyone know of any flakes that don’t contain color enhancer, I’ve seen blackworm flakes but a lot of them contain salmon.
But is Salmon Meal totally different? Does it not affect color or does it still affect it?

Did you know that flamingo feathers would not be pink if it were not for their diet? Salmon flesh would not be red if it were not for their diet. It stands to reason that if you feed a red fish food to your fish they will also become red to some degree. Ocean Nutrition makes Dried Seaweed. Seaweed is another natural color enhancement food for fish. This product contains just seaweed and a little garlic extract.
Ooooh, that clears it up a little bit...
Do you think that discus would eat the dried seaweed? But thank you!
