Does John Nicholson still frequent this forum?

John moved to Fruitvale about 3-4 years ago. He tore down his fish house and I don't believe he has rebuilt a new one at the new location. He offered to sell me the last of his discus when he moved. He hasn't been on this forum in a few years.
Like Francis said, you can contact him on Facebook to see if he ever got his discus going again.
I for one, greatly miss John's honest, straight-forward, no sugar coating talk & advice - and his dry humour!
Wish he'd come back to frequenting SD.
Thanks folks...
I miss him and many of the old timers here, too.

Me too. When I fired up Pete's Skanky Basement O' Fish about 17 years ago I bought my first Red Snakeskins (8) and Red Turquois (8) from John N. Also purchased Blue Snakeskins (8) and Blue Turquois (8) from Dave C (another straight talking, somewhat abrasive, discus keeper back in the day). That foto on the SimplyDiscus home page of a youngish guy holding bags of Blue Discus is me purchasing from Dave. John N on the other hand shipped his Discus to me... and he was really kind about keeping me informed and checking up while we did the shipping, as it was my first time receiving fish that way!

Dave C was my hero. I was more forceful then than I am now but Dave and I got along. Do you remember Anand? He is persona non grata here because he caused havoc when he broke into the forum and gave himself administrator powers. I liked him, too. I bought fish from him after NADA in Atlanta. The fish room was in the basement and the fish were good. He had a cat that he petted. I liked that. I have many favorites from back then. They were all good honest people and they were almost all outcasts of one sort or another.

Do you remember back when we had fights on Simply? God, those were fun days.

I was there for the little blue dress. He sure in a hairy guy. That was back when everyone went to Joe's room and partied. Joe is gone from Discus, too. He squandered all his money and his drinking lookover his life.

Willie, I remember you and John looking at a tank and in deep discussion with him in a blue dress hairy legs and all. Weren't you wearing a hula skirt that time It sure was one hell or a weird party. There were pictures here once.

All advice I give, is because I've good results with it, you're free to copy it. It's not a rule, it's just my way. Ohhhh and don't take me serious, I'm most of the time kidding
