My pair took several tries before any fry and then ate the first batch at about 1 week due to not being a big spawn or the pairs drive to breed again .
Having another is very nice !
Keep an aye on both they should keep trying till they get it right ..
Breeding fish is fun and like a contest to me sort of . If you never lost winning would never be so great . Hoping it just gets better for you . That is what we all usually hope for ...
It took some time but looks like we may have a good spawn:

so as of today they are 9 days old, I had to take the male (I think) out of the tank because he was being bullied by the female, but all is well:
